THE HOKA HALF: May 4, 2025
On Sunday the 4th of May, I ran the Runaway Sydney Half Marathon (aka the HOKA Half). I’ve been running for about a year now. Early mornings, a few quiet kilometres before the day beginnings. Sweat, fresh-air, headspace. Turns out that exercise makes you feel good!
This was my fifth event. I've done half marathons, full marathons, trail runs. I finished it in 2:15. Didn’t crack my PB (2:12 from last July), and new goal is to come in sub-two hours.
I’ve realised I like signing up for these kinds of events, it's good to be tested! And having something to train for. Something that makes you show up. And if it happens to burn 2600 calories and opens some space for 15 beers on a Sunday, even better.
